A Taste of NYC: Kyotofu Part II

Since we only had savory foods when we went to Kyotofu (you can find the post here), the sister and I decided to order some desserts. Luckily I was able to snap some pictures before we devoured the little sweets.

Side note: The fiancé left for Florida yesterday to spend a week at some vision conference. I came home to some nice surprise flowers to keep me company while he’s away.

Anyways, back to the important topic – food. The sister got the yuzu cheesecake. She loved them, but I”m not a fan of yuzu so I decided to pass.

I opted for the green tea creme brûlée. I love everything made out of green tea and this was no exception. If you’re ever in Hell’s Kitchen and want to grab a small dessert, be sure to stop by Kyotofu!

A Taste of Boston: Clam Chowder & Boston Cream Pie

One of the “must eats” that I always take people to who are visiting Boston include the original clam chowder soup and Boston cream pie. While we waited to get oysters at Neptune Oysters (click here to read more), we stopped by Union Oyster House to get some clam chowder soup. Union Oyster House is America’s oldest restaurant and right on the Freedom Trail. The clam chowder is great but the best part is the corn bread about 3-4 inches high that comes complimentary.

Another “must eat” is the origin of the Boston Cream pie. They’re completely different from the Dunkin’ Donut rendition and are moist, light and delicious.

We also stopped by Mike’s Pastry and Paul Revere’s house in the North End that I’ll post next. This is the problem when I travel, I always find too much good food to eat!
