A Taste of NYC: Porteno

Last night was a promising night of adventures with great food and a mysterious show. My friend and I decided to go watch Sleep No More, a take on MacBeth but at a hotel (I’ll have another post on the show itself). To make sure that we wouldn’t be late for the show, we made reservations at a nearby Argentinian restaurant based on yelp reviews.

We arrived at Porteno and was greeted by one of the friendliest men I’ve met. It was small but very clean and buzzing with customers. We were seated and told the specials. We decided to go for an array of appetizers with our drinks. I chose the Sabandija for the gin and muddled strawberries and my friend chose the Matungo (she loves spicy drinks). We shared the pate, cheese platter, and one of the specials: grilled octopus. If you ever happen to stop by, get the grilled octopus. Delicious!
